I figured it was time to meet the shops who have donated such lovely items to make the big Holiday Giveaway happen.
I’ve “known” Ashley of Joyful Star for awhile now. She has a great blog and has just started selling on Etsy. I have my eye on one of her boxy zip pouches but for this giveaway, she donated a set of note cards and a pouch!
Next up is the always adorable Kyla Bea Crafty. Kyla is another blog friend and probably one of the craftiest people I know! Her shop is sold out right now (I told you she was good!) but she will be back in no time with her gorgeous cowls, scarves and some paper goods.
Branch Handmade offers screen printed clothing, pillow cases, candles, essential oils and more. There is a great variety in this shop but personally, I’m kind of digging the bike tee. Branch Handmade donated one of their yummy candles and an aromatic essential oil spray!
We actually had Red Leaf not too long ago as one of our Etsy Adore features. I really don’t think I can get enough of this shop. Hopefully after the holidays I’ll be placing an order of my own for a shave cube and some beeswax lotion. For now, Red Leaf has donated some Bubble Bath Dough!
Stay tuned for more of the shops!

Since I posted the doggie holiday gift guide, I thought we should have a giveaway for the pups! I actually included DoggieLicious in the gift guide and they have decided to give away some beautiful looking and surely, just as yummy treats for the dog owners out there. Or if you win and don’t have a dog, feel free to send it to your favorite Corgi, Miss Edie Pup!
Seriously though, don’t these look so good you can eat yourself? And you can if you really wanted! Read our interview to find out more about Michelle and Mark.

Tell us a little about you and your shop.
My name is Michelle Ferrell and I own DoggieLicious Gourmet Dog Treats with my husband Mark. We both are born and raised in North Dakota and are proud of the fact that almost everything we use in making our treats originates here in either North Dakota or Minnesota. We have been making special treats for our own dogs and for friends and relatives for some time now. My background has been in therapeutic recreation and child care over the past 10 years and my husband is a marketing graphic designer for a large hotel management company in Fargo, North Dakota. I have two beautiful children, Cole (10) and Abigail (8) from a previous marriage and Mark has two grown sons, Drew (24) and Paul (22).
We heard about Etsy Shops from a friend and we were immediately struck by the quality and artistic nature of the products being offered in the various shops. We had already started our web site and felt that it was a great outlet to showcase our unique and delicious treats. All of our items are hand made in very small batches using the best natural and organic ingredients we can find.
Since this is DOGGIElicious, I’m going to assume you have a dog or dogs! Tell us about them as well.
Yes, we do have two Cockapoos, Murphy and Gus. Murphy is almost two years old and the baby, Gus, is just over a year old. When we decided to expand our family to include a puppy, we had to take into consideration Cole’s allergies so we decided on Cockapoos since they do not shed and are excellent family dogs with great personalities. Murphy, black with a white blaze, is our Alpha male and is the dominate but aloof one. Gus is the “mama’s boy” and is our cuddler and such a sweetheart. Gus is black and white as his father is a Parti-Poodle.
They are the number one reason that we are doing what we are with DoggieLicious because we want only the best possible treats and rewards for them since they bring so much joy to our family’s life. They are such a part of our lives that coming soon will be a new line of Premium Cookies for dogs that are named after them.
How did you get into making your own dog treats?
We have always felt that the commercial treats contained so many chemicals and then after the dog food scare from China, we wanted to control the quality of the food and treats we gave our own dogs. Since we consider Murphy and Gus as members of our family, we would not want to take the risk of feeding them anything that would be detrimental to their health.
We also were looking for a fun activity to involve the whole family and it just blossomed into what we now call DoggieLicious! We also decided that if we were going to pursue this, we would not cut corners and offer only the finest treat available that not only tasted great, but also looked and smelled terrific. You can see the quality in our photos and in our upscale packaging. We are very proud of DoggieLicious Gourmet Treats and we are committed to continue to grow and develop. We see great things on the horizon.
Now be honest! Have you ever taste tested any yourself? They do look quite yummy!
Absolutely! We have tried every single product that we currently offer and some that just never made the grade either. As a matter of fact, we even had family at our home for Thanksgiving and we had them try our newest creation that is not yet in the shop, our Pumpkin Squares and Mini Bones. Since we use only human grade ingredients and no unhealthy sugars and fats or artificial preservatives, they are very healthy and contain few calories. The only thing they are missing is sugar and they would be good enough for you and I both to snack on. We live in a very cold climate in the winter and included in our winter survival kits is a large bag of Pumpkin Squares!
What are your favorite (or dog’s) favorite items in your shop?
Our newest favorites are the Pumpkin Squares and Mini Bones, Molasses Spice Drop Cookies and the Garlic Growlers. The pumpkin products contain just enough natural sweetness of honey and the great taste of cinnamon so it tastes like a crunchy piece of pumpkin pie. The Molasses Almond Spice Drops are a soft treat that seriously tastes like they came out of Grandma’s kitchen. They have just enough almonds to give them a little crunch. The Garlic Growlers are a savory flavor that our dog’s crave. Some dog owners think garlic is not good for their pets but we use such a small amount of garlic, just enough to give it that garlic aroma. Garlic is also known to be a natural flea and tick repellent.

DoggieLicious Treats is giving away two prizes each consisting of a Stainless Steel and Leather Treat Canister (pictured above) and 4 sample bags of treats, Pumpkin Squares, Peanut Butter & Oat Crunchers, Garlic Growlers and Molasses Almond Woofers.
