playing catch up

+

I have lots to write about. Denver, new friends, Eclipse and apartment hunting! And I will. Soon. I’m still catching up from my week in Denver for the NAHJ Conference.

But for now you should check this stuff out:

  • This awesome gift Jessica Maria’s friends have her and her husband. Seriously, it’s amazing.
  • Molly welcomed a new baby boy into her family and he is adorable.
  • I made a list of some seriously amazing vintage and retro inspired swimsuits. I now want ALL OF THEM.
  • Have you seen the poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? I may or may not have fangirled out over it.
  • I can’t stop listening to The Constellations. Go give them a listen if you like good music.
  • This is probably the cutest picture ever in the world.
  • Are you obsessed with Mad Men as much as I am? Particularly the clothing. I broke down Joan Holloway’s style (and found an amazing Etsy shop that makes replicas of her dresses!!) and the fashion of Betty Draper.
  • That brings me to my next point, there needs to be a Mad Men season premier party so I have an excuse to buy something new and dress up. Chicago, let’s make that happen!

summer days

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Chicago has finally decided to give us some decent weather and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been spending my sunny days outside on a blanket with a book and my crappy old iPod. I read Allie’s book Stay, in one sitting and it was fantastic. Stay tuned for more on that!

I’ve been trying to soak up some sun, so I can stop being the whitest Mexican girl in the history of the world and so far it’s working okay. I may get skin cancer from basically roasting in oil, but whatever, I’m working on a great tan.

PRIORITIES, PEOPLE. I HAVE THEM.

On Friday, I got a manicure (THAT’S ALREADY CHIPPING) and pedicure (my first of the season) and my fingers and toes* are done up nicely in Lincoln Park After Dark. I rounded out my weekend by purchasing seasons one and two of Dawson’s Creek because they were on sale for $20 at Target. $20 for BOTH. #paceyandjoeyforever

I’ve also been cranking out shopping lists for Shoptopia, which has been a total blast and a burden on my wallet. A very pretty burden that I don’t mind one bit because it comes in the form of dresses, bags and shoes.

Research is expensive, dudes.

Go check out some of my recent posts: 15 Super Cute and Stylish Laptop Bags, Maxi Dresses and Summer White Sundresses. Take a look around and get to list making. It’s way fun and I bet you’ll see a few familiar faces around the site!

Also, can someone in Chicago please have a cookout? I’m pretty sure it’s all I need in life.

* How do we feel about matching polish on the fingers and toes?

playing catch up is hard work

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

I overslept today. My reader is at a billion. I have so much admin work to do on the shopping blog. Class! I’m exhausted. My brain hurts.

But I’m back. Did you miss me? Did I miss anything?!

I had an AMAZING time in Las Vegas and almost didn’t come back. I have a ton to write about and a few pictures. Sorry, I was totally slacking on the photo front. I have my poor feet to care for. I feel like I can sleep for three days!

Highlights:
- Vanilla Ice playing craps 5 feet away from me
- Tao
- the food!
- our Macauley Caulkin room (what?)
- Paris
- getting serenaded on a gondola

Low Lights:
- buying new heels and attempting to wear them to the club
- my feet feeling like they are going to fall off
- the bandaids…oh, the bandaids
- spending $75 on those bitch ass uncomfortable heels that tore my feet up

In Blog News:
- Thanks Katelin and Amanda for guest posting! You girls are awesome and I love you both.
- My shopping blog is now on Alltop! So is Umm…Now What? Yay!
- a new giveaway at the the shopping blog as well
- a bunch of posts of mine up at Rone Break

So go check those things out while I try to process my ridiculous weekend!

guest posting

I’m over at Katelin’s place today with baby photos of myself.

Trust me, you want to see this.

Oh and I’m also over at Rone Break discussing fashion on the campaign trail.

what exactly is a rone?

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I recently started writing for a new site called Rone Break. I’ll be covering fashion! Rone Break covers everything from news, music, entertainment, gadgets, internet…EVERYTHING and it’s pretty awesome.

My first piece is up about Emmy fashion face off: Christian Siriano vs Lauren Conrad.

Do me a favor and please go check it out. Leave me some love saying how brilliant I am so I don’t feel like a big idiot for having no comments and thinking my article sucks.

Take a look around the rest of the site too! There is something for everyone. Plus you can see exactly what a rone is. I know you are intrigued so do it!

Rone Break. Do it up.

Oh wait, one more. Vote for me in the Blogger’s Choice Awards. Then vote for everyone I voted for because obviously they are effin’ awesome.

Leave your links in the comments and we will be BFF everywhere on the internetz.

all over the effin’ place

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

I really am and I’m sure you’re sick of me saying “oh, hey go check me out over at <insert blog here>.”

You know how that goes though, no one is forcing you to read it!

With that said, go check out these places:

Amanda asked me to fill in for her and I said yes because I love her. Go check out my post here. I’m talking about girl crushes, money, pretty things and lack of money for buying pretty things!

While you out there clicking around, I’m giving away an adorable Sassy Apron over on the shopping blog. I also post the most adorable things ever every other day of the week so check those out as well.

Who’s Your Dachshund? has your puppy dog fix. Also, if you want to write a guest post for Wiener-free Weekends, let me know! We don’t discriminate and love all pups. We’d love to have you! Check out details here.

And if for some reason, you are still bored after that – go check out the new blog, Umm…Now What? that four other lovely and talented ladies and myself launched yesterday.

And if you are still bored after that, dude, I’m sorry. Pick up a book or something.

twentysomething

Monday, September 8th, 2008

I have it all figured out!

Okay, not really.

More like Umm…Now What?

Yeah, that’s more like it.

That is also the name of a new blog I’m a part of that launches TODAY. I teamed up with some of the best twentysomething writers out there and we are bringing you a blog about surviving these crazy years.

Jess of Jess Writes had this amazing idea for a blog and wrangled Princess Pointful, Brandy, Chelsea Talks Smack….and me. Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out how that happened! Those ladies are far more talented than I, but I’m so psyched to be a part of it and gonna make the most of this.

My first post is up, along with some posts from the other lovely ladies.

Go check it out, say hi and subscribe!

Um…Now What?
