First off, let’s give a round of applause to my guest bloggers this week! Michelle, Kyla and Brandy, take a bow, you girls are lovely and saved my poor blog from a week of neglect!

It’s like negative 30 billion degrees out here in Chicago. Yesterday while walking to the office, my hair was freezing, face red and my glasses were icing over. Obviously, I walked into the office looking absolutely stunning. Oh and then a photographer from the New York Times came in to photograph us later. Oh during the shoot, I was sitting next to Lauren (she’s on our ad team and awesome!), who use to be a model.

Let’s break that down:

negative 30 billion degrees + red face + sitting next to model + NYT photographer = me potentially look like a chubby hot mess in a future NYT article

I know you are itching to see if it prints and trust me, we should know soon.

Let’s just pretend it was a bad hair/face/body day and be done with it. Okay? My other option is finding every copy of the paper and taking a permanent marker to me if a photo has me in it. If I miss any, I expect you to do the same.

Can you tell I’m not a fan of photos?

Tyra will be disappointed in me.

My grandma once told I should be on America’s Next Top Model (she was 91 at the time). My response was…

a) I’m only 5’3″
b) I’m not a size 00.
c) I’m too awkward for pictures.

I wish I could be on the show though. I’m obsessed with it.

Tyra really scares me.
Anyway, I always look awkward on photos for some unknown reason. That’s why I might never be able to be a model. Not like that’s my biggest dream. ;P

I’m sorry it’s so cold and miserable in Chicago! My mom lives in MI, where the weather is also in the -30s. She doens’t have anyone photographing her today though, which is nice. I’m sure you didn’t look a “chubby hot mess” (although I loved the fact that you used that phrase).

How exciting that you’ll be in the NYTimes, though!

But if there were a blog award for best hair, you’d totally get win, so I’m sure even if you weren’t smiling with your eyes, the only thing anyone will be able to think when they see the pic is “Damn! That girl has great hair!”

I feel you though. I hate getting my picture taken. I do not know how to work my angles.

You’re the girl with all the potential, but do you really want it? I see beautiful girl standing before me, but you have allowed below zero temperatures to get to you.

When I did my first photo shoot in antartica I was freezing and it was a BATHING SUIT shoot. I was shaking but I said to myself, “tyra– this is your DREAM”. It was the most amazing shoot of my career.

You just need to dig down deep and pull it out. No excuses.

I believe in you.

God, I love that show. And Tyra’s comment is KILLING me, in a good way, of course. “I see a beautiful girl standing before me…” YES. EVERY WEEK. “But I’ll only call one name.” Wha wha wha.

The moving gif scared the life out of me. Thanks for jump starting my heart. I thought I was in an Asian horror movie and the pic was alive. My blood was probably a bit thick and heart slow anyway with MI near negative billion.

Aw – that was like my wedding pictures Jamie, my sister is a model. I’m not tragic or anything, but you sure can feel that way in comparison!

They’ll look great I’m sure – and having your picture taken by a NYT Photographer? That in and of its self must make you glow just a little!

Ahh this weather in our area has been crazy hasn’t it? I was not impressed with the -30+ weather at all and I heard on the news the other day we’re in for more of it soon

I used to like Tyra before her TV show an ANTM. She just showed everyone how crazy she is. I can’t stand to watch either show.

Except marathons on VH1…those are fun.

my friend can somehow make her eyes smile, I always told her that. When I do it, they just get watery and wide, lol. I’m also 5’2 so model size FAIL here oh and I proudly have curves! Hope the photo comes out well!
