Target, Paris and Hooters?

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I finally got out of the house yesterday. I had to run to Target for a “few things”, of course those “few things” ran me about $90. You know how it goes with Target. Well that doesn’t include the stuff I buy for my family now, because my mother can’t be bothered anymore since she is almost home free. That is another entry entirely though, which will be coming soon.

Anyway, I picked up a movie I have been wanting to see for awhile: Paris, je  t’aime

I can’t wait to sit down and watch it. Could I be on  French movie kick? Seriously. This is obviously the closest I am going to get to Paris, until I either 1) come upon some money somehow or 2) get a real job.

Then of course, boyfriend and I had to hit up the classiest of the classy restaurants, Hooters. Shut up. If you have ever had wings there, you wouldn’t have anything to say. Plus, the cheese fries! Good lord, the cheese fries! Tell me why I go there yesterday and the decide to change things up? This girl brings out these nasty seasoned fries and are most definitely not the carb-y goodness that I go to that place for.  Even the jalapeño cheese could not save them from their awfulness. Hooters, you are not my friend until you bring back my french fries and I am AWESOME. You want me as your friend.

After a disappointing meal that left me craving french fries still, we went home where William helped me seperate a big bag of Starbursts into 2 baggies, pinks and reds in one and yellows and oranges in another. I only will eat the pink and reds, him being the amazing boyfriend that he is, takes all the other ones off my hands. That is love, people. He gives up all the pink and red Starbursts for me, when we all know, those are the best! We also started to watch I’m Not There but by 8:30, I was falling asleep. The sickie-ness is still not completely gone. Almost, but not quite. So far, what I have noticed is Cate Blanchett is amazing in it though!

Thank you all for the well wishes and and the new sites to check out. Stuff White People Like is probably the best blog ever. Thanks Erin and CDP for that!  Happy Tuesday! Yay for short weeks!

end of the internet

Monday, February 18th, 2008

This weekend, I have done nothing but browse the internet and watch dvds because I’ve been cooped up in my room. I swear I feel like I’ve reached the end of the internet. My google reader is at zero. Save me on my day off from school, people. I know I have not found the end of the internet. There has to be more out there!

Favorite sites, blogs, ect. Go!

(Oh, and if anyone says Perez, I will end your life.)

sneak peak

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Those are my beautiful Valentine’s Day flowers from William. They are like a purple-pink color and need more water. They smelled wonderful yesterday and I’m sure they do today do, I couldn’t tell you though for sure, because I can’t breathe. My friend stole that bottle of wine from someone’s house a long time ago and it’s been sitting there ever since. The edges of my bulletin board are covered in tickets, tickets from baseball games, movies and when I go see bands. There is a ton of them, they go back to like 2002, probably even before. Baby picture, photo booth pictures from the Empty Bottle, Kurt Halsey postcards, House of Gucci and my Blackberry.

A sneak peak (visually) into the life of Jamie.

sick

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Because my life is awesome, I woke up this morning with a throat that feels like sandpaper, can’t breathe because I’m so stuffy and my head feels like someone has been hitting it with a hammer repeatedly.

Looks like no meet up for me.

This is stupid.

why I am an awesome girlfriend

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Here is just two of the many reasons why:

1) I gave my boyfriend an awesome card and a bag full of his favorite snacks for Valentine’s Day.

2) I bought him tickets to this today:

a little bit of everything

Friday, February 15th, 2008

This is kind of a wrap up on the week. I had a lot going on, so I’m gonna stuff it all in one big entry.

- I have heat still! Remember when I woke up to 45 degrees? Hopefully that never ever happens again.

- Thank you all for your comments on my quarter life crisis. I read each and every one and took everything said to heart. I am currently working things out and trying to figure out what I truly feel would be best for me.

- We had a successful contest with a fabulous guest post by an up-and-coming author. Check out the winners here.

- Robert Cavalli makes me squeal with glee like a little girl.

- Happy Valentine’s Day! I got beautiful flowers from boyfriend. I will probably post a picture this weekend.

- Tomorrow is a Chicago meet up. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, especially Jenn and Erin!

- Remember NaBloPoMo? Well they are doing monthly themes to prepare everyone for November this time around. March’s theme will be lists.  I will be doing it, because I am already crazy and doing Blog 365. Check it out, should be fun!

Finally, Valentine’s Day took a sad turn yesterday when a former student shot up a class at NIU in DeKalb. He injured many and killed 7, including himself. This is heartbreaking and scary. It hits incredibly close to home, I’ve had friends who have gone there and know some who currently attends school there. My heart goes out to the Huskies, their friends, family and every affected by this horrible tragedy.

Unpredictable contest winners!

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Thank you all so much for entering the Eileen Cook Unpredictable contest! I loved reading everyone’s stories, some where hilarious (I’m looking at you, Virginia!), some were sad and some were incredibly brave. Oh and there was Erin who rooted for the Cubs for a man! Never stray again, girl! Anyway, I had William and my sister, Sara, pick out the winners. They had a rough time since all your stories were amazing and so different, it was hard to choose!

A copy of Eileen Cook’s Unpredictable and a $5 Starbucks giftcard go to: Susie @ Everyone Loves a Boston Girl Everyone agreed you were amazing and so patient. I don’t know how you did all that. Plus, I don’t know if I would massage my boyfriend’s butt to make him fall asleep every night (haha sorry, babe)!

The other 2 $5 Starbucks giftcards go to: Kari who lovingly and patiently works through her SO’s mental disorder and is so brave & Magda who converted to Catholicism for a boy who she didn’t even end up with! It all worked out for her though in the end :)

You can read Susie, Kari and Magda’s stories, along with everyone else’s in the comments of the contest entry! There are some really great ones, so if you get a chance, definitely go check them out.

Again, thank you all so much for participating! If I could give everyone something, I totally would. I know $5 isn’t a whole lot, but it’s just a little something to say thanks for helping make my first contest here at Oh! How Lovely! so fantastic!

Ladies, email me at jamie(at)ohhowlovely(dot)net with your address, so we can get your prizes out!
