Project Runway: 403

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Two down. Who was next to go? Let’s find out, shall we?

In one of the guy’s apartments, or dorms, since they look way more like dorm rooms than apartments to me. They discuss how bummed the are that Marion is gone and someone pipes in saying, no one would care if Christian went home. Christian is all offended and tells everyone how bored they would be without him there. I think it would be much better with out his doucheness, but then again, that is just my humble opinion.

Blah blah. They are told by Heidi to meet Tim to find out more about their challenge, so they go to this place and see this dude and Tim. You can obviously tell like no one knows who the dude is, except for Kevin, who is oh so super manly and needs to make sure everyone knows that he is straight. It ends up being football great, Tiki Barber. I’ve never heard of him, but I’m not a fan of football. I know nothing about it. Haha, I kept asking my boyfriend questions that turned out to be stupid, when he was watching the Packers vs Cowboys game yesterday. He was like DUDE, IT’S EASY and went on to explain what is what and what happens when and I just have a blank stare on my face like OHHH OKAY. Annnnyway, back to the show, Tiki is a correspondent and needs to look good on camera, so in comes the challenge.

MENSWEAR.

They get back to the work room to sketch and all you see is this:

No one knows how to make menswear, so we have a….REAL CHALLENGE!

Everyone gets all ambitious and decide to make suits with vests, pocket squares, ties and all that stuff, of couse, it ends in CHAOS.

Top 3 and bottom 3 after the jump!

For those who have completed NaBloPoMo, we salute you!

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Oh my. We have made it, lovelies! NaBloPoMoFo is over! Congrats to you fabulous bloggers who finished it!

I, for one, am never posting again.

Ever.

Hah, yeah right. I bet you I will still end up posting a ton, but it will definitely be because I CAN and not because I was forced!  Okay, willingly forced myself, I guess. I’m happy I did it though. It was fun and I found a ton of good reads!

Also, happy Friday! What does the weekend bring you? The lovely weather gods, bring my city a snow storm warning or watch. Whatever, I never know the difference between the two. How’s that for fun?  I’m foresee a lot of Wii and some movies.

I’ve been doing some Christmas shopping. I’m hoping to knock out most of it soon. I have to go buy some wrapping paper. Am I the only one who loves to wrap presents? I love it! Oh, and I watched Project Runway yesterday. That is another post in itself though, so just know, it is coming!  I have quite a few things I need to write about, but no worries, I won’t bomb your feed reader today.

Alright, well I’m off to dance around at work  with my little 2 year old to Justin. Yeah, that’s right, Justin Timberlake, I said it.

Guts!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

I had a bad day at work yesterday and was exhausted, so I didn’t go to the boy’s to watch Project Runway. Since I don’t have Bravo at home, I don’t have a recap today. I promise it will be up tomorrow or later tonight, because the second I can, I am rushing to his house to watch it on DVR!

Also, regarding my last post: If Rihanna and Prince Valiant had a baby that watched way too much Dora the Explorer, it would be Saleisha. That is basically what I concluded from all the comments!

On to the good stuff now. I’m totally copying Michelle with this next thing.

This is my bag. Not the best picture but still. Lovely, isn’t he? Yes, he is a boy and his name is Marc, because he is my first Marc Jacobs bag.

Here are Marc’s guts:

from left to right:
- my life (my planner)
- mirror
- keys
- 2 pens
- Little Fatboye (my iPod)
- my little pink notebook to write thoughts, notes and lists

Next row:
- a ton of change that fell out of my wallet yesterday
- ticket stubs from American Gangster, Enchanted, We Own the Night, the Chicago Film Festival where the boy and I saw Lars and the Real Girl
- gum
- bandaids (sometimes cute shoes hurt!)
- cream of chicken Cup a Soup (only 60 calories!)

also from left to right, everything in my makeup pouch -

- Stussy wallet, which I will use until I get my matching Turnlock wallet (not in my makeup bag, of course)
- CO Bigelow Mentha Lipshine
-CO Bigelow Lip Buffer
-Bare Minerals (which I hate and only use for concealer)
- Carmex
- eye drops
- Philosophy Supernatural Airbrush Canvas foundation
next row:
- Bluefly 10% off coupon that expires tomorrow!
- fold up brush
- Rosebud salve
- Bare Minerals mini kabuki brush
- Motrin
- hair thingys
- Bare Minerals concealer brush
- Full and Soft Mascara

Not pictured: my camera (which I was using to take pictures), my Blackberry Pearl (charging) and all my girly products no one probably wants to see!

What’s in your bag, ladies?

ANTM

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

I hatehatehate this cycle of Top Model. I have no idea why I watch this show anymore. I get mad at Tyra for sending everyone that is good home. She always does! Victoria was my girl this season, of course, Tyra sends her home in like the 5th episode. Plus, Janice is gone.

Obviously, Tyra does not know when she sees it.

Oh and:

=

Y/N?

A real entry this time?

Seriously, I’ve been lazy. A SURVEY (not meme) and a picture that I drew with crayons? LAZY. I’m so happy NaBloPoMoFo is almost over. 2 more days! My writing felt almost forced sometimes, I think that once this is over, ideas and words will come easier.

<cheese> I am glad that I decided to do it though, I’ve found so many good sites to read and “met” so many great people. </cheese> Sorry, had to get that in there!

Tomorrow I have a day off! Yay! I’m going to do exciting things, such as change the oil on my car! and pay bills! and run erands! Oh, the fun that will be had. It doesn’t even matter that I have a 10 hour workday today because ANTM and Project Runway are on and I get to see my boy.

Speaking of amazing things to watch, Sunday I went to go see Enchanted.

Can I just say how great it was? It was so funny and cute and I just loved it. Part of this may be because I’m 23 years old and still want to be a princess when I grow up! Amy Adams was fantastic. Adorable and if you could bring a Disney princess to life, she would be it and, well, she was! Seriously, I really don’t think they could have cast this movie any better. Prince Edward was played by James Marsden and even though I will always think of him as Cyclops forever, he was a great prince! They played their characters perfectly. McDreamy was in there too. I’m not one of those women who swoon at the thought of him, but I liked him in this. It was hilarious and definitely not just a childrens’ movie. Go see it!

On scarier note, do you recognize this lovely mug?

It is the SheSpencer, douchebag Spencer’s sister. Arrested for shoplifting and drug charges last year! Read more about that nonsense here.

Hard at work

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

I have it rough. Check out what I had to do at work yesterday.

Off to another hard day at the office!

Edit: I’m a nanny. Note the faint scribbles of the 2 1/2 year old. I know you are crazy jealous of my amazing art skills!

iTunes survey (I hate the the phrase/saying/word meme)

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I got tagged for this by Spunk yesterday. She is lovely and I have impeccable music taste, so I figured I would do it!

Remember back when you were like 16 and had a livejournal and would do like 5 million surveys because you had nothing better to do? ….. Maybe that was just me.

MEME Rules:

1. Put Your itunes/ music player on Shuffle
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER WHAT

After you’ve answered all of the questions, tag 5 other people and then let them know they’ve been tagged to do the meme themselves!

6 more days

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Only 6 more days of NaBloPoMoFo. I am almost there! You are almost there!

This has been the laziest 4 day weekend ever in my life. I’m almost embarrassed of my pure laziness. Yeah, I was that lazy.

Here is what I did:

- ate
- read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 37th time
- watched Grey’s Anatomy DVDs, also for the 37th time

Sounds like fun? Iknowright.

I don’t even care though, I’m enjoy my lazy days while they last. Come January, I will have my ass kicked for 2 months when semester starts. My schedule will be insane and I will probably cry from the sheer lack of time do anything else than school or work. Really, it is going to be bad.

Starting January 14th:

Monday and Wednesday
- Math class @ 8:15. No one should ever have a math class at 8:15, especially me. I am not a morning person or a math person but it was take the early class with the nice, helpful teacher or take the later class with the mean, mad, makes everyone drop his class because it is so bad teacher. I chose the nice, helpful teacher and I will hope he will take pity on my cranky, terrible at math self and pass me with a decent grade.

-Psych class @ 11:30 or something like that. Psych, fine, whatever, no big deal.

- Nursing assistant class @ 3:30. 3:30 until 9:50. 6 hours and 20 minutes. Seriously. This class is only for 8 weeks but still, 6 hours. 20 minutes.

I will be at school from 8:00AM-10:00PM.

Thursday
- Nursing class. 3:30-9:50

Are you jealous yet?

Tuesday and Friday
- work. I work usually 10-11 hour days.

So yeah, that is an awesome schedule. I know everyone wishes they were me, so they can have that week. I’m glad that the Nursing class is only 8 weeks, so after those 8 weeks I will only have two classes Monday and Wednesday until 1:00PM or something. I will probably end up picking up Thursdays at work then. For two months it will be rough, but I’ll get it done and, hopefully, still be alive after it all. Or hey! Maybe it will be like super stressful and I will lose like 30 million pounds and be a perfect size 4. Well, now, 8 weeks of hell = size 4? I can deal with that.

Just kidding!

Okay, maybe not about the 4, that would be awesome.

Anyway, lovelies, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, whether is it was 4 days or 2 days!

M.I.A.

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Last night the boy and I went to go see M.I.A. We get there and in big letters we see SOLD OUT. It was probably my fault, because I didn’t get out of the house until 7:30 for the 8:00 show. It was such a bummer, because M.I.A. was actually headlining this time and the last few times we have seen her it has been with other acts. We really didn’t think it would sell out either. If you remember, a few weeks ago, I posted up an M.I.A. song or maybe no one was reading then. Since I missed out last night, everyone gets music today!

I don’t have the older album Arular on my computer. Maybe when William wakes up he will send me some songs from it. Here are a few more tracks off of Kala and one from Timbaland’s album Shock Value that features M.I.A.

Bamboo Banga
Paper Planes
Hit That
&
Come Around (featuring M.I.A.)

It’s a really different, awesome and unique sound, if you never heard of M.I.A. Seriously, give it a chance. I promise you will like it!

The days of black

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Seriously, people. Black Wednesday. Black Friday. Black Monday. What the hell is with that? I don’t remember ALL of those days being referred to as Black ___day. Of course, today, I get. When did Wednesday and the coming Monday start being called that too? I think it’s only this year I have heard of that.

I am, fortunately, spending today at home, laying in bed with my laptop and not plowing through other shoppers ready to shank someone for the last Sex and the City box set. Trust me, if I were up for the Black Friday insanity, I would shank you for that last Sex and the City box set. $99.00 for that. Dude. Seriously, consider yourself shanked, but I honestly do not have the patience for the lines and the rude people and cranky retail workers.

How do I know they are cranky?

Because I use to be one of those cranky retail workers! I’ve done my share of working retail and hopefully I will never have to do it again. When I was in high school, I worked at a Target. Back at 17, I didn’t have the love and appreciation for Target that I do now. I can’t go into that place without spending minimum of $100! I think it’s like rule that you have to buy at least one thing that you don’t need when you go there. Or in my case 12 things you ‘need’, but in all actuality, you don’t…even though you totally do. I also worked at the GAP flagship on Michigan Avenue for a few months, that was awesome because of the discount. Until, I got fed up with the management and just stopped going right before Christmas. I definitely don’t recommend doing that.

Then a few years ago, I worked at Toys R Us. They were like, ‘Oh Jamie, we love you so much we are sending you to work in the video game section!’ right around November. Obviously, they didn’t really like me or they wouldn’t have sent me to work in HELL just in time for Christmas season. For some reason at Toys R Us, they called it Green Friday, instead of Black Friday. This was probably because you had people practically throwing money at you, begging for that last XBOX. I had people scream until they were blue in the face because we were out of the special edition Halo game. Because duh, they were SPECIAL so obviously the regular edition was just not good enough and I should have saved one for them, even though I don’t know who they are or that they were coming to buy some stupid game. It was a rough day. I ended up doing the closing shift on Green Friday, which sucked because we were open until Midnight and THEN we had to clean up the chaos from the whole day, so I didn’t get out until at least 2AM.

Hopefully, I will never have to work retail again. It’s just not my thing, but working it taught me a lot. I can guarantee you that I will never go in to a store and throw a fit if they are out of what I want. I will say ‘please’ and be polite. I will definitely say ‘thanks’ when they help me out.

You never know what kind of day it has been and a little appreciation means a lot.
